WILD BOYS AFTER DARK, Book Four
Four years ago at a film festival, Cici Fine met Cooper Wild, a man who turned her world upside down in the span of one deliciously perfect week. He was everything she’d ever dreamed of: sinfully sexy, intelligent, and incredibly loving. When the festival ended, they returned to their own hometowns with promises of forever. But Cooper disappeared, and Cici was left to raise the daughter he never knew about alone.
Cooper is finally thinking straight after years of being lost in grief from the tragedy that killed his father and left his mother blind. Now he’s on a mission to find the woman he left behind—the only woman he’s ever loved.
But Cici Fine is no longer a naive young girl. She’s a savvy businesswoman with big responsibilities, on the cusp of a life-changing move. When fate brings the two together, they’ll put the old adage to the test and find out if love really can conquer all.
This is the fourth and final book in the After Dark Wild Boys series and what a fabulous finale.
It’s four years since Celeste (Cici) Fine fell under Cooper Wild’s spell in Bay City at a film festival. After a week with Cooper, the perfect man in and out of bed, they went their separate ways, promising they would see each other again. That never happened but Cici has not forgotten him. How could she when her young daughter Melody’s blue eyes are a daily reminder of Cooper – who knows nothing of her existence. Cici was sure he would get in touch again but that never happened. So she got on with her life, raised her daughter and built a photographic business specialising in family and children’s portraits. Now’s she’s planning to move to New York where she has secured several lucrative contracts. However, as she committed to attending the film festival in Bay City, Maryland, she’s fitted this in between the packing.
Cici was certain the last place she would ever find Cooper would be in Bay City. She felt it wouldn’t be an important enough gig for him but answering a knock on her hotel room door, there he is.
For both of them, it’s as if time has stood still. Their physical desire for each other is as potent as their emotional bond. Cooper tells her he still loves her. He explains why he never contacted her – the robbery, his father’s death and serious injuries to his mother which left her blind. He explains how badly it affected him mentally, that by the time he had got his life back on track he felt it was too late to find her. That she would have moved on.
Feeling she has been given a second chance for love again, the one remaining problem for Cici is the best way to break the news to Cooper about Melody. But before she can resolve this, she is called back home to a family emergency involving her sister Tegan. With no idea where she has gone Cooper, knowing he can’t risk losing her a second time, enlists the help of his PI brother Logan to track her down.
Back home Cici realises if she is to have a future with Cooper then she has to tell him about Melody. But how will he react when she reveals this one secret she has still kept hidden? Will it bring them together or tear them apart?
Great characters and a wonderful story about two people given a second chance for love – a fantastic ending to this quartet of books.
